For those of you still crying over the loss of Acme Underground, get over it; times change. Ace of Clubs might not be the swankiest environment—actually, it’s poorly lit and desper-ately begging for a face lift. However, it’s this grunginess that is perhaps the bar’s biggest asset. The performance space attracts all types, from live music, to comedians, to sock puppet renditions of Showgirls (as if it wasn’t bad enough on the first go-round). Though things don’t always run smoothly, an openness to the artistic community is this bar’s Ace in the hole.
