K&M: In what used to be Krystyna and Margaret’s pierogi joint is now a great local bar just down the street from Supreme Trading. With ornate tin ceilings, and plenty of booth and table space in the back, this bar is cozy without being fake. Plus, they boast a terrific beer selection, which includes Wurtzberger, Tyskie, Hitachino White Ale, and Milwaukee’s Best along with a revolving selection of on tap brews from points of the world like Belgium, Poland, Japan, and Germany. Pints range from $4 to $7. This spot doesn’t attract the undesirable crowd that often haunts this side of Williamsburg. Instead, it offers great DJs (although sometimes the music is too loud to enjoy conversation), a huge projection screen, and the best bathrooms we’ve ever seen. Happy Hour is from 4 to 9 everyday and features Tecate and bourbon for $5 each, and yes, you can still order up some pierogies. |
